FAQ

Good questions, straight answers.

What to expect, how to prepare, and what to check before a new fence goes in.
What types of fences do you install?

We specialize in premium wood fencing — privacy and semi-privacy fences with 4×4 or 6×6 posts, built standard or with trim. We also install chain-link fencing for residential and commercial properties, set fence posts on their own, and repair existing fences.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Tell us about your project through our estimate form or call 204-399-2157, and we’ll get in touch about the next steps.

How does the process work?

It starts with your request — online or by phone. We review the details you send, get in touch to talk through the project and, where it helps, arrange a visit to see the property. From there you receive your estimate.

Can you help me choose the right fence height and style?

Yes. You don’t need to know the technical terms before you contact us. We’ll talk through privacy, how the fence should look with your property, post size and build style, and help you choose what suits it.

Do you install fences for commercial properties?

Yes. We work on both residential and commercial projects, in wood and chain-link.

Do you offer fence repairs?

Yes. We repair damaged, leaning, loose or deteriorating fences and posts. Photos of the damage are helpful when you send your request.

Can you install fence posts without building the whole fence?

Yes. We offer post digging and setting as a standalone service.

How long does a typical fence installation take?

It depends on the length and layout of the fence, the site and the schedule at the time. Ask us about timing when you request your estimate — we’ll give you an answer for your specific project.

How should I prepare my property before installation?

Clear the fence line of furniture, planters and anything stored along it, and make sure there is access to the work area. Know where your property line is, and have underground utilities located before any digging. If the fence is shared, let your neighbour know.

What should I know about property lines, permits and local requirements?

Your fence must be on your property, so confirm the property line first — a survey or real property report can help. The City of Winnipeg has rules on fence height and placement that can depend on where on the lot the fence goes, so check the City’s current requirements for your property. Underground utilities must always be located before digging.

This is general guidance, not legal advice. Requirements can change, so confirm them with the City for your specific property.
